The pitter-patter of the rain on my rooftop hums and buzzes.
I lose myself in the serenity of the melodic rhythms,
As it gently and softly coos me to sleep.
Hush. I am at ease. I am at peace.
I am as silent as silence goes until I start to stir,
After only but a minute in my immobile trance.
I am awake.
And I must now face another day with my plastered smile,
And tear-glossed eyes.
Nobody knows but I.
I patiently wait for the rain to acquaint itself with my senses yet again.
I'm ready for the takeover.
