30 Day Challenge

So I got this idea, here, from Sophie's blog.  It looks like a pretty fun thing to do, and something to get me back into the swing of blogging since I've been MIA for forever.  I should just get on back into it because it's supposed to be that easy, but for some reason, I'm finding it difficult.  So having this to do for a month should be good, amongst all of my other posts that will be making their way up here as well.  So here we go!

1. Introduce yourself
2. A recent picture of yourself and 15 facts about you
3. A picture of you and your friends
4. A habit that you wish you didn't have
5. A picture of somewhere you've been to
6. A favorite superhero and why
7. A picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you
8. A list of short term goals for this month and why
9. Something you're proud of in the past few days
10. Songs you listen to when you're happy, sad, bored, excited, mad
11. How you found out about Blogger and why you got one
12. Nicknames you have and why
13. A picture of you last year and now; how you've changed since then
14. A picture of you and your family
15. A song that makes you cry
16. An art piece
17. A talent of yours
18. A hobby of yours

are you serious?

So I've got to be at dance in less than a half hour and my dad was telling me last night that he would be home before then to take me.  It's 6:35 and I have to be there at 7, so I give him a call to see where he's at.  Today he went and saw his friends, Billy and Denise, and they went holiday shopping and whatnot.  I call him and he says that they were late and just getting back and he's not going to be back here in time so I should try and find a ride.  Are you shitting me?  Why the hell would he not call and give me enough time so I'm not scrambling at the last minute, trying to find someone to drive me to dance on time?  That's both inconvenient for me and whoever I manage to get to take me.  This is ridiculous and that was very irresponsible of him.  I am so pissed right now.  And I'm blogging about it so I don't forget about it later.  Wow.  Fucking amazing.  Thanks for caring.

lol but really, though.

So I came across this girl's YouTube Channel today, and may I say, I'm just blown away with her.  She is so inspirational, beautiful, courageous, insightful, and just so many other adjectives in the English language.  What a wonderful human being.  You don't come across this every day, really.

you know every story, every wound, every memory...

So I'm watching Stepmom, and all that keeps running through my mind is, "I wish my mom were here with me."  I know I'm probably going to cry while I write this, but it's true.  Watching this movie is pretty much almost the epitome of what I had to go through as a child.  As I'm looking at where my life has taken me to, where I am at this very moment in my timeline, I just wonder what she would say.  I want to know what she would do when I submit my first college application, or how the ride would be to my first audition in a little over a month.  I want her to ensnare me in a big hug and calm me with her soothing words; I always found the most serene comfort there.  I just want her to pick me up and take me away from everything, and I want to go somewhere with her that's not just in my dreams or fantasies.  I want it to be real and never have to dread waking up to my Imogen Heap ringtone as my alarm.  I know there's all sorts of sentence fragments in here, but I don't care.  This is what I feel and this is what I need and this is also my blog, where I can do whatever I want and say whatever I want and write however I want because what I'm expressing on here is real, and the scariest emotions that I feel, all wrapped into this giant array of something that pushes and adds weight to my chest, trying to cave me in.  I feel like I'm going to explode with feelings like this and sometimes I don't know how to deal with them.

I just need my mom when things get like this.  Living through all of this silent shit with my dad, I need my mom here to talk to, so she in turn can talk to him, and resolve all of this for me.  I'm not scared...actually, no.  That's completely false.  I'm so scared that I don't know what to do with myself.  I don't know how to talk to my father and tell him negative things.  I'd rather keep my mouth shut and suffer in silence, than go through a confrontation and raising my voice to make my mark.  I need her to help me find my voice.  I need her to be here and tell me that everything is going to be okay.  I need the mother that I always dream I still had, the one that I wrote about in my college essay, the one whose memory fills my thoughts every second of every day.

I know that she is proud of me.  That's what everyone always tells me.  That's what they think, and what they think will help to soothe my pain, so that is what they say.  I know that she wouldn't have her only daughter be different in any way or any less of the person I am now, but...

I just wish that I didn't have to hear it from everyone else.  I just wish that I could get that once in a lifetime chance for her to tell me herself.

cookies n'cream.

I just had ice cream, which explains the title.  I'm also in need of a nice long vent session on here.  That's to come tomorrow, promise...okay, double promise.  I know, I know, I always say that and then I don't post, but I will.  Trust me.

"...they have to endorse things they don't even USE."

I've still got to write a bunch of really important posts, but I just needed to put this up here asap.  So funny story is that Ariel and I have been staying up until ungodly hours of the morning (my record is 8:36 a.m.) just doing pointless shit and being complete idiots and finding whatever on the internet for our morning amusement.  The subject of our mornings for the past two days has been the result of her stumbling onto a "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" tumblr blog, and well, I just love her...so much.  We were also watching videos of the show on YouTube and she found this one and here is the result of us dying all over the place.

P.S. Wayne Brady is just magnificent.  THAT'S ALL.

...and here's another one just 'cause  :D

But with what we have, I promise you that we're marching on...

So I was watching videos tonight, recapping SYTYCD Canada, and this particular one stood out for me.  This guy is just...unbelievable.  So powerful with his movements, and yet they're so soft and gentle, I can't even take it.  There's something about him; I can't quite put my finger on it, but I have a feeling he will go pretty far (at least I'm hoping he does).

Here's the full song from his audition.  I've totally fallen in love with it.  I'm sure it will be the substance of various combos that I do for a while now.  I just love OneRepublic in general, so this is a nice treat for me, and of course Kevin is brilliant as well.  Wow.

NOW TIME FOR THE WEATHER...TIFFANY?

Absolutely DYING.  I LOVE TRUE BLOOD.  Only 3 more episodes left for the season, though booo  D:  HOWEVER, I heard that season 4 has gotten the green light and they're shooting!  I cannot wait!  Even though I've read the book series and I know everything, but you never know...Alan Ball tends to go his own way with a lot of the plot outline.  I definitely love where he's heading.

"I don't want people who want to dance, I want people who have to dance."

where they go hardcore & there's glitter on the floor

Strangely enough, I actually like this Ke$ha song...go figure.  Maybe it's because in her music video, for the one time in her life, she doesn't look like a dirty sewer rat; her hair is straightened, her make-up looks flattering, and aside from the continuing auto-tune over her actual voice and the fact that she pretty much stole the underlying melody, it resonated with me.

This movie is brilliance.

adding to the "wow" factor

Another eerily gorgeous composition from my friend, Maja.  The way she writes and makes you think about a specific scene is just uncanny.  I'm at a loss for any more words.

She's sitting there texting--alienating herself from the rest of us.

Why is it that whenever someone is put into a situation where they feel the least bit uncomfortable, the cellphone has to come out?

Her fingers are whizzing away. She’s making every attempt to keep her eyes on the screen—only occasionally looking up at the boys jumping into the pool in front of her.

Does she even want to be here? Did her parents force her to come or something? Why can’t she at least make an effort to talk to someone? Oh right. She’s uncomfortable. What am I supposed to do about it? Oh right. Love her.

Well now I’m uncomfortable.

I realize that it shouldn’t be about me. Who cares if I say something stupid? No one. She’s sitting there—why can’t I at least make an effort to talk to her? Oh right. I’m uncomfortable. I make up a million excuses. I convince myself that its someone else’s job. Who am I kidding?

I take a deep breath and walk over. Surprisingly, the conversation comes easily. I find myself wanting to make her feel at ease. She looks like she fits in with another crowd…yet I want her to fit in here. I start thinking.

Reaching out is easy. Loving is easy. You just have to forget about the discomfort and take a step of faith. Everyone deserves a warm welcome.

it's been way too long

After I started posting more on here, I was resolved with myself that I would continue that positive routine. After I came back from UArts and went straight to Costa Rica, however, I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't keep it up.  I really want to talk about so many things that have been on my mind lately, and also reflect on my incredible trip to Philly.  I'm not in the right frame of mind to start all of that yet, though, but I'll post this...this song has been stuck in my head all day omg, Emmy Rossum, you are absolutely beautiful.

you're gonna catch a cold from the ice inside your soul, so don't come back for me. who do you think you are?

Alright, so I feel like such a fucking idiot because I spent so much fucking time writing that blog post about that saga that it took for Ryan and I to start going out.  AND BOY DO I HAVE A STORY, NOW.  This past Sunday was the 4th of July, so you know, American independence celebrated throughout the country because we're 234 years old and all of that.  Ryan and I were finally doing something together after I hadn't seen him for almost a week and we hadn't really had all that much time to hang out in the first place since summer had started, really.  I was really excited to see him and spend some time with him, although he didn't really seem the same as me.  Although, of course I would say that now, but wait, just wait.  He got to my house a half hour late (at 4:30 in the afternoon) and we started making our way over to Beechwood Park.  It was only about a 15-20 minute walk from my house, so I figured that would be good.  We had planned to go on a walk anyway, and I couldn't really think of anywhere else to go.

When he got to my house, I went to go and give him a hug hello, and he kind of shied away form me subtly.  Like, you know when someone just makes that tiny, little movement and it means something, so you pick up on it and it only takes a milli-second.  So it was that and I was just thinking, Oh well alright then.  We started walking and the entire time, he kept his hands locked in his pockets, where normally, he would hold my hand if we were walking somewhere, so that was weird, too.  We got to the park and sat on the swings for a bit and made some talk.  The atmosphere felt really off and I didn't know what to talk about or what to say.  Then, Ryan turned to me and said the most negatively viewed words strung into a sentence, basically the gut wrenching feeling of the English language: "We need to talk..."  I had no clue what he was going to say, but obviously break-up and problem shot through my mind, then.  Of course it was just that.  He said that he didn't think this was "working out" and that whenever we hung out, things felt awkward and he felt more like just friends.  So here's me, thinking that before this, everything was going really well and nothing was wrong, so obviously this was coming straight out of left field for me.  I didn't really say much, just because I was so stunned.

He's leaving for a summer music program for 5 weeks in a couple of days and he told me that he "wanted to get this done before he left so that he wouldn't miss me while he was gone."  And you know, I was just laughing in my head by that point because he was being such a complete idiot.  I was like, Oh so you weren't planning to miss me otherwise?  Yeah, alright.  He kept on apologizing every other second, also, like he thought that was going to make me feel any better about what he had told me.  So that was cool, too, I guess.  After he was done and I was just sitting there, still trying to make sense of everything, mind you, I didn't really want to stay there anymore.  I had no idea that this was going to happen, but I planned on staying with him the rest of the day, and you know, after that, I didn't really feel like staying in his presence.  I said I was going to go home after that shit was done and then, AND THEN, he says, "I can walk you home if you'd like."  HAHA WHAT?!  Okay, so wait, you just broke up with me in a park that I walked you down to, apologized to try to make me feel better, and then you think I can't get back to my house without your assistance?  Like, no, are you kidding me?  Fuck off.  I can get back home by myself, thank you.

I tried to stay really unemotional throughout the whole thing.  I've got this thing, I hate crying in front of people unless I absolutely can't hold it in and there's no way that I would be able to make myself stop.  So I tried to hold it together as best I could, but then obviously as I was walking away, I let loose and started crying.  It probably looked like I was really nonchalant about it, which might be the reason why he was able to do this so easily.  It just came out without difficulty for him and I really don't know why that was the case.  Obviously, that tells me that he didn't really care about putting forth the effort to try and fix this and it didn't mean that much to him, so he thought he'd let this one slide.  Well you know what?  Fuck you.

Now, I can't really even recall what I said during this time, but I can tell you that it really wasn't much at all.  I was still stunned and lost for words, so I really just remember sitting there, not knowing what to think.  However, now that I've obviously composed myself, I have a lot that I want to say to this guy.  I was thinking I'd orchestrate a very well-written document, explaining my feelings.  It's time I use this gift of conveying powerful thoughts through writing for some fun.  Now, I'm going to write it on here, where I will then proceed to copy and paste it on to a Facebook message just for him.  A little "going away present" before he ships off to Berklee for a month.  I hope he has a wonderful summer.

Time to fuck shit up.

I have been doing a hell of a lot of thinking for the past four days; I have talked to my friends, getting all kinds of comments and advice and feedback.  I have also noticed that I didn't tell you even a fraction of all of the thoughts going through my mind on Sunday as well as the time between then and now.  I thought it best to get this done before we both left for the summer so we would know where the other stands and this does not have to rule over our minds, adding to the fact that you won't have to miss me either, as you so eloquently put it on Sunday.  Going over the events in my mind, and how they played out, I would like to tell you that your reasoning for both breaking up with me and whatever route you took through your thoughts in the process of this was utterly awful.

Firstly, if you have got some kind of problem concerning the two of us while we are involved in a romantic relationship, I want to be sure of the fact that you will come to me with that problem so we can talk about it and solve it and work through it together.  Now, obviously this wasn't the case because you just chose to keep it to yourself and end the relationship rather than bringing it to my attention as well.  I hoped that you would have taken that initiative if you cared for my feelings and opinion on the matter, but it is now evident, as it was on Sunday, that you don't.  Any kind of relationship involves work.  The individual pieces don't fall perfectly even and into their exact place every single time.  Even going beyond relationships, that is just life in general.  You have to work for what you've got and you have to work to keep it the way it is.  Nothing is going to come easily and it is most certainly not going to occur without any sort of building block to work off of.

Now, you see, that building block that I am referring to is a complicated frame of mind entitled "trust."  Trust is earned, trust is taken away, and sometimes trust is never even established in the first place.  I'm sure that you would probably like to think that I did, indeed, trust you, but now how would you really know that?  You wouldn't.  Unless you had talked to me and gotten to know me and done all of the things that should generally happen when two people are involved in a relationship.  Now, if you had done that, you would have found out that I do, in fact, have numerous issues with trust.  You would know that it takes a lot for me to just give in and give way to my emotions and thoughts without second guessing myself and the people in my life.  You would know everything that I have been through to make me the person that I am today and what has molded me into myself.  However, that takes a little bit more time to establish; I will inform you now that it definitely takes a hell of a lot more time than two months.

I honestly can't put my finger on what you were possibly expecting for us within that sort of time span.  I don't know if you were expecting for us to really get each other, or for the both of us to meld together somehow, but I can tell you right now, that you cannot accomplish that in less than sixty days.  At least not with me, you can't.  If that's really what you were expecting, than I'm embarrassed that anything even happened to begin with.  I don't even like thinking that you went into this with expectations.  This should have been entered upon with an open mind because I truly didn't know you, and you didn't know me.  Yes, we knew things about each other, but that isn't to count for anything.  There are things that I was really looking forward to sharing with you as we got closer and I grew comfortable with letting them be known.  Although, there is still that trust problem that always keeps making itself known.  I don't completely open myself up to anyone unless something has really told me that everything else around me feels right, in a sense.  That takes time, and it is in no way something that can be rushed or "expected."

I can't help but to not understand why you would tell me, for the second time, that you hoped we could be friends.  You said that to me the first time before we had even started any sort of relationship, which was alright, but then however, after "everything changed on the Boston trip," (and it seemed like you did a complete 180 in a month and a half), you cannot simply revert back to that first frame of mind.  Especially because the fact of the matter is, we had a relationship and I did actually believe you when you told me things had changed.  So what?  Did they honestly somehow go back to what they had been before, or did you just lie to me the second time after the trip?  I really can't see how someone can go from just wanting to be friends, to wanting a relationship after saying that things had changed, and then back to just wanting to be friends.  That is bullshit and I'm actually offended that you tried to pull that with me after this.  I can tell you right now that I have no interest whatsoever in being friends.  If you didn't have the decency to be honest with me when something was bothering you while we were supposed to be closer because of the fact that we were in an actual relationship, then I don't know how you would expect me to believe that you would have any sort of respect for me when we would be demoted down to a friendship, of all things.

I don't believe for a second that I would be treated the way that I am supposed to be, along with the way that I deserve to be.  Inserting your apologies and various "I'm sorry's" didn't make me feel any better about what you had done and said, and then proceeding to tell me that I could feel free to kick you or slap you across the face didn't add much either.  That just tells, and proves, to me that you didn't agree with your own decision if you wanted me to inflict that on you myself.  That doesn't make you look manly, letting me know you can take it, and it doesn't earn you any sensitivity points with me either.  Trying to apologize and say negative things about yourself also tells me that you don't actually think those things.  It's to increase your ego and self confidence because you want to hear me negate them and say that "it's fine" and "you're still wonderful."  Well, by now, I would think that you've gathered that that is not what is going to happen, so you can forget that.  I'm not going to waste my time.

It had also conveniently came to my attention that there were rumors floating around that you were cheating on me.  I did my work and got down to the bottom of them without having to be nasty because I went through the right people.  I don't know if you were aware that these rumors existed or not, but frankly, I don't give a fuck because I know about everything now and I've obtained it from people who know their shit.  If you did know, I can't say that I'm surprised that you didn't tell me, nor do I care.  I do, however, want you to know that I can see why trust was a variable in our relationship because the people you surround yourself with are nothing of the sort, talking about everyone else and exploiting others like it was their day job.  In fact, I hope you do know who started those rumors, and I hope you know why because I sure do.  I still find that I am not one bit taken aback by that, either, because I had a speculation, and I was correct.

I hope you took the time to read this in its entirety and come to terms with reality.  In all honesty, as much as the situation sucks, it's better to learn sooner rather than later about the kind of person you really are so you couldn't have the chance to completely break my heart months or years down the road.  If you're going to have some kind of alternative business, you should honestly grow a pair and tell me upfront so other people don't get their chance to report your business to me for you.  Now, I'm a very tough girl, and I know I'll bounce right back.  Hell, I'm pretty sure after writing this, I already have.  I will be straightforward with you (something you should work on) and tell you that I was really only upset for the first few hours.  Afterwards, I just became annoyed because I thought about it and talked to people more and more.  I don't have the time for games and expectations, and I most definitely don't have the forgiveness for dishonesty.  Don't tell me one thing one day, and then something that is the complete opposite, the next.  If you're going to be one of those soap opera guys that need to make your feelings like "Oh, I just don't feel it anymore," then I don't actually need you at all.  This isn't One Tree Hill where the guys are more dramatic than the girls.

And another thing...don't sit and end a relationship with me as though it didn't pain you to cut it at all, and then ever-so-nonchalantly offer to walk me home.  What did you think I would say?  "No, Ryan, let's hang out some more."  Are you actually kidding me?  If you want fucking awkward, then you would have gotten it if I was that stupid and let you walk me home.  That would have just been the icing on top of a horrendous day, ending with an even larger lack of communication.  What you did caught me terribly off guard and I did not deserve that at all.  It was overly inconsiderate and anything afterwards is not worth it.  You should know before you ask a girl out if your connection is "just friends" or something more and you should have had the balls to talk to me about this before rather than making the mistake to tell me that you had been thinking about ending this "for a while."  How long is "a while" anyway?  We hadn't even gone out "for a while" yet.  Had you made up your mind when you were sitting in the theatre at my show, watching me pour my heart out on a stage for everyone to see?  For once, be honest with me and tell me if those thoughts had extended through from then.  If that is the case, then I really resent you because I'm telling you right now that you have no right.  If that is the case, then how dare you even attend?

Connection is a feeling that stays with you; it just doesn't pop out of nowhere.  If you don't understand the process of communication, then you will never have a successful relationship in your life.  It is not that complicated to talk things out, but obviously if you were willing to give up after less than two months, I can blatantly see that you weren't interested to work for this and it clearly didn't matter to you as I thought it would have.

I'm done.  Bye.

what is wrong with me?

I just wrote SO MUCH.  okay.  wow.  I feel good about it, though!  :D  I've also listened to "Cosmic Love" SO MANY times today.  Something is seriously wrong.  This song is incredible.  I've got such an infatuation.  my god.

i have got a lot to talk about

Like, a lot a lot.  I don't know why I've gotten no lazy about posting.  It always makes me feel better when I can get my thoughts out clearly and not feel like I'm exploding inside with all of this information.  So That last thing I left off on was the whole Ryan Saga.  I actually just told this to my friend, Christine, last night when we were hanging out (which was so much fun, I love that girl so much).  She seemed to like it and was proud of me for everything I had decided and done and then she proceeded to commend me for slapping this girl that I hate a while back, saying, "OH GOD, YOU CAN'T TURN OUT LIKE ME.  I CAN'T LET THAT HAPPEN."  She knows she has nothing to worry about because it's me, but the both of us also know that it was gravely necessary and this bitch needed a slap across the face for things she had said.  But that's old news, and this new news is good news (redundant much).  So I'll pick back up from that last post now.

"So Back in December, Ryan and I started talking and over the course of a few months, we got really close really quickly."  We texted all the time when we didn't see each other in class.  We're both really involved in the music department at school, so this year he was finally able to take Chamber Choir (he was a sophomore this year and Chamber isn't offered for Freshman), so we had a class together this past year during 8th period.  We had really been getting to know each other, but really only over texting because we didn't have that much class time to really talk about anything other than the songs that were in our repertoire.  So for the beginning of our friendship, we were all technologically based for the time being.  We eventually started talking a lot more in person, but that was after winter break had ended and we were back in school.  Fast Forward to the beginning of the month of March and by this time, we're really talking and opening up, helping each other out with one another's problems and talking about everything.  My feelings really started to change here and I had never felt anything like this for anybody. I had never been in a relationship before, experienced any of this sort of stuff, really, so this was all new and foreign to me so I had no idea what the fuck to do.  I had been talking to my friend, Alyssa, about all of this in the meantime and she was giving me some good advice because she'd been n this type of situation a couple of times with her boyfriend, Brandon (who's just the best guy, he's hilarious and they're so great together, but anyway).

I was still talking to Ryan throughout all of this, obviously, but now that things had changed for me, it was difficult talking to him, keeping up our every-day conversation, while simultaneously liking him.  Both Alyssa and I figured that I should just tell him rather than keep feeling like this (again, going back to my nature to explode inside with all of this information because I don't have a medium to express it), but although I like living in a world of optimism, I'm also hypocritical of myself, second guessing my decisions and going through the scenario that I told him, would he say no and our friendship would crumble?  So this was me for about 3 weeks, going back and forth in my head, weighing the pro's and con's of telling him and not telling him or waiting it out.  We were talking late one night and I just decided to fuck it and go for it.  What could be the worst that happens?  I thought to myself.

We were having a really nice conversation and I sent him a message back about whatever it was.  I had decided that when he sent me another message, I would send one back and that would be the one where I finally told him.  I waited anxiously for my phone to vibrate and it felt like 10 fucking minutes because I was so excited and sickly nervous at the same time, even though it only took him a minute to respond.  But everything sank inside me when he responded, asking me if he could get my opinion and thoughts about this girl that he knew/wanted to become better friends with/all this shit that caused me to think back to all of the con's of telling him and proceed to metaphorically punch myself in the gut.  Of course, me being fucking me, I was like Yeah, sure, what is it?  Tell me...but hating myself that I still cared more about him and his thoughts rather than tell him off, making him notice what was right in front of him.

He then goes to tell me that this girls is a freshman at Hills named Juliet (how more fucking anti-climactic can you possibly get?), whom he met while he was working at Woodside Music Studio.  She was in there, taking some lessons and he had only talked to her a couple times (and that specifically means 2.  They only briefly talked twice) and didn't have her number so they could text or anything.  So already, I was like FUNNY, I RECALL THAT YOU'VE BEEN TEXTING THIS GIRL FOR OVER FOUR MONTHS AND TALKING ALL THE TIME AND YOU SEEM TO NOT HAVE ANY FEELINGS FOR HER, BUT YOU WANT TO KNOW THIS OTHER GIRL MORE.  So, I'm sure you can tell that I was a bit annoyed at the whole situation.  However, like a good friend, I listened and helped him, seriously wanting to alter my answer to better the chance for myself, but not doing so.

I told Alyssa about what happened the next day and she was so annoyed that Ryan could be so dumb.  I half agreed with her, not wanting to call him dumb, but obviously still upset at the fact that he couldn't clearly see what was right in front of him, you know?  I went another couple of days, still the two of us talking like nothing had changed, me subtly hinting to him that there was this guy who had been on my mind, but things had gotten complicated because of this other girl whom I knew he had eyes for.  Though,  one night, I had just had it and I just came out and told him.  It took him a little while to respond, probably because he was caught off guard, but when he eventually did, he had gently and respectfully admitted that he didn't feel the same.  Truthfully, that's what I was expecting given what he had told me about this other girl just a few days prior.  I took it as best I could and that was that for the time being.  He had been so extremely great about it, though, which I loved.  And then I hated myself more because I still fucking liked him even though he shot me down because he wasn't a douche bag about it.  And everyone knows me...I wouldn't like someone like that, so that just goes to show and tell you that this is a really great, genuine guy...who didn't like me like that.  *Fucking exasperated sigh in the black hole form of my life* <-- Way too melodramatic, but you get the idea.  Nobody likes rejection and that's probably the only accepted time to be melodramatic, and since I'm not like that either, I'll take it now.

So after that chaos, things were just a little bit awkward when I saw him in class the next day and I kept my distance.  I'm sure he clued in because he didn't come over to talk to me like he usually did.  Which was fine with me, he was giving me my space and some time, which I had wanted anyway.  I knew I still felt the same for him, but then I also had the confirmed realization that he didn't share that feeling, so I just had to deal.  But I still wanted that time in which I dealt to be by myself.  We talked a little less, but this was really only for about like a week or two.  Then we were pretty much back to routine, with me still feeling the exact same in the back of my mind, but killing myself to try to hard not to let that get upfront and in the way.  If anything, I still wanted to stay really great friends with Ryan.  He's a great guy, so I wanted at least that much if nothing could go any further.

Things were going as best they could and then the end of April came.  The choir was going on a four-day-long overnight trip to Boston for a competition and we would all be together.  Basically the entire trip, Ryan was sending me all these mixed signals and shit and I was getting so confused outta mah fuckin' mind.  I didn't know what to think and how to react, so I just played it off nonchalant and went about my business.  I mean, of course I was still trying my game at it and everything, but I wasn't expecting him to do a complete 180 and reciprocate.  I wasn't even sure if he was aware that he was doing it, and if that was the case, I'd be so angry that he was hurting me for no reason.  I went with it, reluctantly, still not sure what exactly he was doing.  It's not very common/normal to be hella flirting with the girl that you just said you wanted to be friends with about a month ago...but whatever, I guess.

There was a gala dinner and party the last day that we were there and after all the schools had competed. Ryan's no a very social person (he doesn't like groups, and prefers hanging out with people one-on-one and such), so parties aren't really his thing.  I love them and I have a good time.  I was trying really hard to get him to enjoy it, but he kept saying that he only felt awkward and uncomfortable so I gave up for the time being.  I wasn't having too much fun either, though, because of the act that this entire trip, he was fuckin' up my mind like crazy.  So eventually, I just went over to him and asked if he wanted to go back upstairs.  NOW, I know what that sounds like, and of course I had my ulterior motives, but straight up, nothing happened while we were alone.  We just went back up to his room and talked and hung out. Although, the entire time, he was still holding my hand and laying down next to me talking, while running his fingers up and down my arm and things like that.  We're friends, can't you tell?  I was kind of just like Fuck It the whole time and tried to enjoy myself.  Some other people joined in the room after a while and we were having fun, playing Apples to Apples, and just hanging out, having a good time.

Now on a school-sponsored trip such as this one, there are no co-ed rooms allowed, so my roommates were girls and vice versa for the guys.  However, I glanced at the clock that night to see that it was 3 a.m. already and was like OH I DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS THIS LATE.  WOW.  So I was debating whether or not to go back to my room because I'm a ~*rule breaker*~ and Ryan was just like NO, STAY.  PLEASE.  So obviously I did *rolls eyes*.  And fucking...like we slept in the same bed together and he has trouble falling asleep, so he was like nuzzling into my neck and just shit like that.  Meanwhile, I was like I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIENDS.  I didn't know what was going on, but I went with it, of course *another eye roll*.  So that was that and yet again, it left me feeling dazed and confused since he had just denied me a month ago and was now messing with my mind, doing this shit.  I was also annoyed, too, at the fact of slightly considering the fact of him possibly hurting me if he still meant nothing by all of his actions during this trip.  However, putting that aside, I was in a pretty good mood.  The next morning when we left, I fell asleep on him during the bus ride home (we were sitting next to each other, surprise, surprise).  His mom gave me a ride home after we got back and then that was that.  I would see him in choir the next day, but I still felt so confused.  We needed to talk...badly.

That next week of school passed by so slowly, I didn't know what to do with myself.  Then the weekend came, finally, and we hung out the entire day.  I got to his house around 3 p.m., but I didn't leave until twelve hours later hahaha.  Yes, that's right, I left his house at 3 o'clock in the morning, to his dad's disoriented delight (he took me home and wasn't very pleased, but him and I are fine now haha).  Now, going back between the time when I got to his house and when I left...I got there and we went on a long walk.  Now when I say long walk, I mean, we went everywhere.  First, he bought me dinner.  My friend, Ryan, bought his friend, Ginny, dinner.  Nice.  ANYWAY, we were talking a lot about random facts about each other: our favorite movies, music, miscellaneous things.  I told him about my mom and my past.  I didn't feel like that was something to ever tell him over a text message whenever we talked at night, so that's why I was just telling him now, in May.  He took that well...was a little stunned, but that was to be expected, and he was really impressed about how it would never show by knowing me the way he had.  I was happy he said that.  Once we had stayed long enough in the restaurant, we went walking all over the place.  We went to a few parks, all around Park Ridge and Montvale, until we walked through this one path around Mill Pond in Montvale.  It was getting really dark and I decided to stop and sit down on a bench there.  We had to talk about everything at some point, and then I had no idea of what would happen (or that I would end up staying with him until 3 a.m., so I had no idea how much time I had at that moment).

I told him everything I had experienced from my standpoint and made specific things especially clear.  I brought up Boston the most, mainly because that's when he was really messing with my emotions.  I then proceed to ask him if anything has changed since I last brought up the idea of having feelings for him.  It took him a really long time to answer.  I swear, it seemed like the longest string of silence in my life.  He started, then stopped again a couple of times, and by then, I was just like, "Look, just say something.  Don't be afraid to hurt my feelings, okay?"  Then he explained everything from his point of view, ending with the trip to Boston and all the time we spent together.  He said that he's really glad we got all of that time to just talk and get to know each other a lot better and then he ended with saying that the trip had changed everything between us.  So as soon as he said that, I was doing flips of joy in my head.  Then he actually said the words, said that he had developed feelings for me and I died.  After all of this...finally.  I was so overwhelmed with happiness, I didn't even know what to do.  I'm sure I embarrassed myself and did some kind of happy-dance to myself that he caught two seconds of, but what do I care?  We had talked about everything and things had finally looked up and gone my way for once in my life.

It was getting late to be outside, in town, so we started making our way back to his house.  Everything felt so right.  We were a lot more comfortable with each other and all of the awkward tension and build up of the afternoon had completely evaporated.  Before, it was utterly palpable and I hated it; I'm sure he did as well.  I was so relieved that all of those uncomfortable feelings were gone, and he started to hold my hand with meaning and put his arm around my shoulders as we walked and still had our normal conversations.  Everything had changed, but still, nothing had, if that makes sense.  It does to me.  It's a good thing, too.  The rest of the night was hanging out in his room, playing around on the internet, watching youtube videos and talking until we got lazy and collapsed on our backs on his bed, next to each other.  We just laid there, silently, processing everything for ourselves, and every now and again, saying how happy the both of us were to each other.  I feel like I'm writing some kind of cliché love story, but that's honestly what it felt like!  He was holding me in his arms and it was just the best feeling that I had had in a long time.

So now getting back to the end of that night: we had been the definition of losing track of time, because I looked at his clock and it was 2:52 in the morning.  I FREAKED out, thinking that his dad would hate me because I obviously had to go home...there was no way I was staying over.  Ryan woke his dad up and he had said that he thought I had went home hours ago.  I felt TERRIBLE that he had to wake up enough to drive me home at this hour of the morning and I was beating myself up about it the entire time and then some afterwards.  What a great first impression, I thought.  Ryan assured me that it was fine and he talked to his dad on the way home.  He said he wasn't pleased that I had stayed that long, but he understood and wasn't mad about it.  That made me feel a little better, but I still felt so bad that it had to happen like that.  I did not, however, feel bad about anything else that ad happened that day.  It was wonderful.  Every part of it.

We hung out again the next Saturday and went on another walk somewhere else.  It was a little more scenic, through the streets, rather than the town.  Even though everything between us had been resolved and implied last week, Ryan and I sat down atop a hill on this one street.  The sky looked really beautiful and he said he likes coming here to longboard or just sit and look around.  He told me that last week, he had forgotten to ask me something "kind of important."  I kind of had an idea of what he was referring to, but I wanted him to ask himself.  He then officially asked me out and to be his girlfriend.  Again, I feel like I'm writing something that's in the middle of a chick flick or something, but seriously, this was my life.  Of course I said yes, and here we are today, almost three months later and I'm really happy!  We went to my Junior Prom later that month and remember what I said earlier about him not liking parties or social gatherings?  Well, I got him to dance almost the entire night with me and he said he had a great time!  He also said that he "did it for me" because he "wanted me to have a great time."  I thought that was the sweetest thing and couldn't thank him enough for it!

I went to my friend's house up in Connecticut for an after Prom party the next morning, and unfortunately, Ryan couldn't go because he had his sister's college graduation.  Although, it turns out he could have gone anyway because of the schedule that his family left on and I was bummed, but we couldn't changed that.  I ended up having a really horrible time, though, just because my friend had invited me and a couple other people up to her house, and she paid all of her attention to her boyfriend and no one else.  Now don't get me wrong, I love her boyfriend and he's a good friend of mine, but I just thought it was rude of her to invite all these people up to her house, and then not pay them any mind while they're there.  So I was texting Ryan the entire time and he knew I was in a bad mood while I was up there and he was being really sweet about it, sending me all of these messages that made me literally feel like I was going to melt because they were so perfect.  He also hates talking to people on the phone, but he called me twice while I was up there to make sure I was alright.  Why am I so lucky to have him? That was obviously sweet, too.

So that's pretty much it!  And everything since then and up until now has been really great!  We haven't gotten that much of a chance to spend a lot of time together because we're both really busy, but we're seeing each other on Sunday and I'm really excited.  I haven't seen him for a week, now.

Now, as I said earlier, I've never been in a relationship, so he is my first boyfriend, he was my first kiss, pretty much everything in that category.  So this is all new to me, really.  He's had three relationships prior to me (one I wouldn't even count because it was in 7th grade and nothing is serious in 7th grade), but his first serious one lasted 8 months with a girl who I now know and she's over him and they don't really talk much.  His last before me, which lasted for 5 month, is another story and I don't know how I feel about her.  Well, I know how I feel about her...I don't like her, and I personally (not being cocky) feel like I am a lot better than she is and I take pride in that fact.  That may be an asshole comment, but whatever, I'm fine with that hahah.  They're still really close friends, but the thing that I have a problem with is that only days before Ryan and I started going out, she called him, telling him that she was still in love with him.  Meanwhile, she hooks up with random people every other day and then she goes back and forth with herself, trying to convince people that she's bisexual or some shit.  I don't even know, and I wouldn't normally care except that now that I'm dating Ryan, she makes me uncomfortable.  He told me himself that he told her he didn't want any kind of relationship like they had in the past.  He just wants to stay friends and he has no feelings for her like he does for me.  I completely believe and trust him, but it's definitely her that I do not trust.  I can't do anything about it, and I don't want to be that girl and tell her boyfriend that he can't be friends with some other girl, especially his ex, but I can't help what I feel.  I'm not threatened by her by any means, though.  I know I'm a lot better than her on so many levels, and I have a feeling that Ryan knows that as well.  So that makes me confident in a lot more things with the two of us.

I've actually really wanted to have this conversation with him for a while, but I don't know how to bring it up nor do I know how he would react to it.  I'm sure we'll get there eventually, but for now, I just want everything to move smoothly, which it has.  I'm happy and he's happy, and we're happy together and with each other.  That's all that I could ask for and right now, that's all that I need.  I haven't been happy like this in a long time and everything about this new experience feels like a breath of fresh air to me.  He makes me have butterflies in my stomach and I can't help but smile constantly when he's just around me. We can be ourselves around each other, joke and do stupid shit, and then we can be all cuddly and cutesie together all we want.  It's what I've always thought about before he came along and now I'm so overjoyed to be able to live that kind of reality.

...and I mean, he's cute as a button, too ♥
