can someone please tell me why

Why, after returning home to the country (6 days in Costa Rica), does my dad spend a few minutes telling me about his trip and say how much he missed me to only leave me by myself again to "spend some time with Margaret"?  Are you actually fucking kidding me?

"Oh, so you don't want to spend time with me?"

"Honey, no, I just want to go and see Margaret."

...it really shows how important I am.  I didn't miss you either.

This is my absolute favorite song.  And I think that Adele just has that ability to take any kind of thought that I've had personally and transpose that into a piece of incredible, relatable artistry.  Every one of her songs has that essence that I can connect myself with and for that, I thank her.  She just possesses this uncanny knack for taking something like a broken relationship, or a nostalgic memory, or a connection with an old friend and can create such powerful verses and imagery through her words and her voice.


She's a real artist.

Margaret rang the door bell just now, and as I was walking downstairs to answer the door, I was pretty much cursing her out and hating her existence.  Why doesn't she just get the hell out of my life, please?

I just had a really nice 2+ hour texting conversation with Jess and I'm really happy that we did.  We just started talking about our two hip hop classes and what songs we should use for their routine in the show.  Our classes are both small, so we're combining, and we were trying to come up with some appropriate songs for them.  I think we got some choices, but we have to take a second look at the costumes she picked for them, and then decide.  We also started talking about school and degrees, because I asked her why in the world she thought to pursue a degree in accounting.  She made a deal with her parents that she could get the studio at 17 if she got a degree in something useful to her.

I had always wondered how the studio came to be.  She is my older brother's age (they're going to be 27), and the studio opened in 2001.  I was always curious to the fact of how she managed to open a studio when she was my age and still in high school.  She was going to college full time while simultaneously working and teaching dance classes and taking her own classes at the studio full time as well.  I give her so much credit and a hell of a lot of respect.  She had to work her ass off to get where she is today, and for us to be "family," I have to say that I am so proud of her for everything she did.  If it weren't for that drive an initiative, the studio wouldn't be what it is today, and I wouldn't have a place that I live and breathe in more than my own home.  Being a member of the studio is the best thing that has ever happened to me in my life and I am so beyond grateful to Jess that she helped make that happen for me.  I don't even know where I would be in my life if it weren't for her and Lisa, and the rest of the family that I have at Metro.  I love each and every one of them and they are all so near and dear to my heart.
